Dragon Boat Race 2024

On the 13th July, MY Hospitals Charity were joined by 4 amazing teams of rowers, who took part in the Dragon Boat Race 2024 at Pugney’s Country Park, to raise funds for MY MRI Appeal!

My MRI appeal is our current fundraising project, aiming to develop a radiology diagnostic suite at Pinderfields, to improve scanning capability for all patients at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The suite will house a state of the art 3.0 Tesla MRI scanner, the first one in a District General Hospital in West Yorkshire. Our aim is to allow children to have MRI scans at our site, without having to go under general anesthetic, as currently, this is not possible, so they are having to travel to another hospital.

The teams who took part were:

-          Team DOM

-          The Division of Surgery Pirates

-          Radiology Rowers

-          And Team Consort

Our teams turned up in great spirits and raring to go. A special well done to the Division of Surgery Pirates for placing 2nd in the women’s division!

An amazing £4857 was raised for our MY MRI Appeal, which we are very pleased and thankful for.

We are very excited to come back in 2025 and hopefully secure the win!
