Funded Spiritual Role

2nd July 2021

MY Hospitals Charity recognises the impact that COVID has had and will continue to have on all our The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust staff. Earlier in the year the Fundraising Team worked with the Trust Chaplaincy team to understand how we could collaborate together to support Staff through these challenging times.

Combined with the invaluable support from NHS Charities Together, we were able to fund a dedicated Spiritual Support Role within the Trust, and we are so proud to be able to introduce Glenda Webb in to this vitally important role.

Glenda in addition to all of the Chaplaincy team, offer a non-judgemental listening, pastoral and spiritual care and wellbeing service for patients, families and staff regardless of religious beliefs or faith.

As a dedicated Staff Wellbeing Chaplain, I am just part of a jigsaw of wellbeing services already available to staff by offering time and space for staff to talk, reflective practices, mental health championing, training in mindfulness and wellbeing practices drawn from many cultures and wisdom traditions used following trauma or stress, space and time for staff who have experienced bereavement at home/ Work or loss of any kind, dedicated staff services to mark special occasions, pastoral and spiritual care -Glenda Webb

As lead for Chaplaincy Services, I am proud of this initiative that invests in our staff wellbeing and I am immensely grateful to MY Hospitals Charity for their unwavering support throughout the process -Brian Chiyesu
