Must March 2023

The Division of Medicine’s Year of Quality have an aim in 2023 to improve a different area of the hospitals.

Today we would like to share the brilliant donations to our Medical Wards at Dewsbury and District Hospital in aid of 'MUST March'.

March has focused on encouraging staff and patients to be aware of their nutrition and hydration, to promote healthy lifestyles and make a conscious effort to eat well and stay hydrated.

Eating well when ill will help your body fight infection, heal wounds, and overall help your body heal, meaning you are in hospital for less time.

It is important to stay hydrated to replace water lost from the body through natural processes such as sweating, and going to the toilet. It is especially important to stay hydrated when in hospital, as it helps maximise physical performance, as well as improving energy levels and brain function.

We are so grateful to have received an amazing support in this campaign from Dewsbury Tesco, ASDA and our Porters Fruit and Veg. Just some of the kind donations include juice, 180 packets of porridge, 112 pieces of fruit and 40 punnets of strawberries!

It is wonderful to see the community coming together to help our patients and staff.
